After your appointment

At the end of your appointment your new tattoo will be covered! I will advise you on how long to keep the wrap on, as this varies depending on the size of your tattoo!

Once the recommended time is up- remove the cover from your tattoo and wash it with warm water. It may feel a little sore and tender, this is normal!

Once you have washed your tattoo, either let it air dry or gently pat it dry with something that wont leave anything behind- kitchen roll works well!

Once the area is completely dry, apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare cream!

Healing Process

You want to be washing, drying and applying cream to your new tattoo 3-4 times a day. Everyones skin is slightly different and the healing process wont be identical for everyone!

Usually between day 4-6 you will notice your tattoo becoming dry/ scabbing. This is more noticeable for bigger/heavier pieces such as bold full colour work. For more fine line/ delicate/ dotwork pieces you may notice the tattoo becoming dry and parts appearing flaky.

Be careful during this period not to pick or itch any scabs or loose skin, allow them to fall off naturally when they are ready. If you scratch or pull of any scabs this can cause the ink to drop out and for your tattoo to heal uneven.

AVOID submerging your tattoo in water for a minimum of 2 weeks (or until it is fully healed). No swimming or baths!

Showering is absolutely fine however be sure not to apply any products directly onto your new tattoo. It is always good to give the area an extra rinse at the end of a shower to ensure there is no product left on that area.

Keep your tattoo out of the sun for a minimum of 2 weeks (or until it is fully healed). This includes sunbeds! Once your tattoo is healed it is always recommended to wear a factor 50 to prevent it fading. Do not apply fake tan or exfoliate the skin whilst your tattoo is healing.
